Tonight here in Beaver Creek I finally got to go and see a movie I have wanted to go see for a while The Crash Reel showcases the journey of Kevin Pearce and his rivalry with Shaun White which was tragically cut short when he suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) during a training accident in Park City just before the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
I found it to be a gripping film. It has some extremely sad, inspirational and funny moments. I don’t want to give too much away as I think the best thing to do is to watch it for yourself.
After the film we were lucky enough to hear from the man himself, in a Q&A session. As he took the stage he received a standing ovation from the entire audience. He talked openly about his recovery and how he now plans to continue to share his inspiring story.
I was lucky enough after the show to meet Kevin and share a few words with him. He is an inspiring individual and his story is incredible.
