Ski stop number two on this road trip is South Lake Tahoe. We have skied here the past five days. Conditions are slightly improved than Mammoth with cover on the open runs, good but outside of that there is not much to speak of.
The Tahoe area has totally missed out on all of the North American storm activity that has blanketed much of the continent with significant amounts of snow. With all of that though it has so far been a fun few days of skiing and with great sunny weather that has made it easy to get out of bed each day and admire the amazing views that make Heavenly one of the most picturesque ski resort in the world. You look out in one direction over the desert of Nevada and then look the other way and you look over Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada mountains.
We are planning that to check out Northstar on Sunday where the snow and park are meant to be better than Heavenly so stay tuned for the next post.
