The summer ski trip has started with the absence of skiing for the first few days. Kicked off with a couple of balmy nights in LA at Venice Beach. Hotel had an amazing rooftop bar, spotted a couple celebrities.
Took in a few roller coasters with Jarryd Alexander at Six Flag. We then picked up Toody and we were on our way to the much anticipated few days in Las Vegas to see in the New Year.
It was then time to get back on the road and head into the desert of Nevada, which seemed a strange considering the following day we would be skiing at Mammoth, California.
The snow situation in the Sierra Mountains is not very favorable, with very limited terrain open. Mammoth is struggling through and if not for snowmaking there is every chance they would not be open at all.
It was fun to come and see this place, as it always is to ski at a new location. With improved snow this place has some awesome terrain to explore. I think another visit here will be in order in the future when conditions are much improved.
Next stop South Lake Tahoe. Stay tuned.
